The recent movie of Disney and Marvel superhero mash-up is a huge blockbuster that changed the yearly box office. According to Disney, “Avengers: Infinity War” earned an estimated amount of $640.0 million at the worldwide box office in its first days in the United States. The event stole the record of “The Force Awakens,” making the movie have the title of the most prominent opening in history.
Earning $1.1 billion at the global box office last Saturday, Infinity War is officially the fastest movie to gross $1 billion, all in just 11 days. It outsold “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” that took more than one day in earning the title in 2015.
All these events happened without the help of China, the world’s second-biggest movie market. “Avengers: Infinity War” was recently released to China’s big screen last May 11. By 10 p.m in China, the film grossed $66 million on its first day, according to China Box Office. Adding up the $9.3 million earned in previews, the film has an estimated total of $76 million in China.
Infinity War was reported to have a global gross of $1.638 billion yesterday (May 14, 2018). It is also officially the highest grossing superhero film in cinematic history. The recent Marvel Studio’s blockbuster is another success from the franchise that made a huge difference to the history of movies. Analysts have predicted that the movie will certainly make its way to the top, earning $1.8 billion to possibly $2 billion. Will the superhero film top the 2 billion record?
