BTS “Fake Love” MV Gains 40 Million Views A Day After Its Release

The latest music video reaches abundant number of views 24 hours after its release

K-POP group Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS) reaches over 40 Million Youtube views on its latest music video “Fake Love” 24 Hours after it was released. 

Because of this, they become the fastest K-POP group to reach 40 million views, beating Psy’s “Gentleman” music video which had 38 million views on its first day. The group also beat its own record of their previous music video “DNA” which gained over 20 million views a day after it was released.

As of now, the music video is #1 on Trending on Youtube and has over 47.6 million views. Despite the view count shown, Youtube is yet to release the official number of views on the MV.

The group’s fans, ARMY,  are currently holding a streaming project to increase the already abundant views with the hashtags #StreamFakeLove and #StreamFakeLoveNow. They’re also streaming the song on Spotify.

Along with the “Fake Love” MV, BTS also released their album “Love Yourself: Tear.” which contains eleven tracks. The album also has four versions: Y, O, U, and R.

According to Forbes, the group sold over 1.44 million copies during its pre-order days in South Korea alone. This makes them the the first K-pop group to exceed one million pre-orders with multiple albums. The latest album is the most pre-ordered album of all-time in South Korea. It also reached No.1 on the US iTunes charts.

The album is available on iTunes, Spotify, and other digital music outlets. Physical albums are also currently being sold.

BTS is nominated for Top Social Artist at the Billboard Music Awards. They will also hold a comeback performance on the said award show which will be held on May 21 at 9AM KST.

They are also having a comeback show on Korean music channel M-net on May 24 and will guest on the Ellen Show on May 25.
