Billboard-Ready: The Celebs' Hype For The 2018 Billboard Music Awards

The 2018 Billboard Music Awards is hours away. Not only are the fans feeling the hype, but also the artists themselves. Performers for the BBMAs already started rehearsing on the Billboard stage for the event. Once again, the BBMAs Twitter is showering its followers with teasers.

First-time performers BTS will perform their newest single, “FAKE LOVE” for the first time on television. The group is also in the running for the Top Social Artist Award alongside Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and Shawn Mendes. The music video for Fake Love currently has

Shawn Mendes, another nominee for the Top Social Artist award, will perform with Khalid on the BBMAs. Khalid, on the other hand, will also be with Fifth Harmony’s Normani for another performance.

Janet Jackson will receive the Icon Award at this year’s BBMAs. She will also perform on stage, which is her first performance in nine years. Janet Jackson is the first woman to debut in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, and her albums were number one for four consecutive years on the Billboard 200.

One of the much-anticipated performers on the BBMAs is Jesse McCartney. He released his new single, “Better With You” last March which is his first release in four years. He once said that he was concerned with getting the fans’ attention, considering that he has not made any material for so long. He also shared how he felt disconnected with the fans because he “grew up pretty quickly.” Sharing his personal life online helped shrink the gap, he added.

Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato will perform their duet, “Fall In Line” also for the first time on television. The song is an anthem for the #MeToo campaign with lyrics such as “You do not owe them your body and your soul.” The track is off of Aguilera’s newest album, Liberation.

Not only will Kelly Clarkson host this year’s awards, but she will also perform on the show. Clarkson had 27 songs on the Billboard 100 Chart. Three of her hits broke to number one, namely “My Life Would Suck Without You,” “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You),” and her debut track “A Moment Like This.”

Other performers include John Legend, Jennifer Lopez, Dua Lipa, Macklemore and Kesha, Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello and Pharell, and Salt-En-Pepa. The red carpet, presented by Pepsi, will air later and will stream at the BBMA’s Twitter. The award proper will be at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
