PUBG Has New Updates For Its Second Season

PUBGM releases update version 0.5.0.

To kickstart its second season, Tencent Games releases the Version 0.5.0 update of PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds (PUBG) Mobile last May 15.

Before its over-all release, the update was beta-ed for weeks prior.

The updates include a new map called “Miramar” which is named after a town in San Diego. The developers also added a “Shop,” where items and clothes can be purchased. “Missions” were also added in which players can complete and get rewards. A team game option is also seen in the new update where the participants can enter a 6-digit code to play with nearby friends. A new feature called “Regions” was also included where players can choose a region and a flag for their profile.

PUBG Mobile tweeted about the update on their twitter account with the hashtag: #PUBGMOBILE050.

Besides new features and options, the update also included improvements from its previous version such as parachute camera smoothness, spectator mode smoothness, sounds and effects, team invitation, and many more.

PUBG is a battle-royale game developed and published by PUBG Corp. It has a PC version with the same name. The difference is that the PC version isn’t free to download (it can be bought on Steam and other online gaming stores) while the mobile version is free to download on both Apple and Android phones. Its release date was March 2017 and was designed by Brendan Greene.

SuperData, a market research firm reported that PUBG generated $712 million in revenue through the eight months it was available in 2017. It was the second-best PC game with 24 million copies sold.

PUBG is reported to release a version on X-Box One with the Miramar setting. It will hold its testing and launching on May 24.

Other games like PUBG are Fortnite Battle Royal, Rules of Survival, The Last Man Standing, ARK: Survival of the Fittest, and Grand Theft Auto.
