Robert Downey Jr. to Host a YouTube Red Series about A.I.

Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, producer Susan Downey, will both executive produce the show through their production company Team Downey. The online series is scheduled to air in 2019 on the paid streaming platform, YouTube Red. In addition to that, the show will have eight episodes, each an hour long.

The yet-untitled series will be narrated by Robert Downey Jr. himself. It will feature experts in Artificial Intelligence, technology, futurism, and other related experts, as well as scientists and philosophers. The featured experts will show the way A.I. transforms we interact and work. According to YouTube, the show will be an exploration of the current and future states of A.I. as well as its development. That’s not all, the YouTube series will also tackle related fields.

“Robert and I share a curiosity for AI, a complicated and often polarizing subject,” Susan Downey told Variety. “Our aim is to explore AI through a lens of objectivity and accessibility, in a thoroughly bold, splashy, and entertaining way. We’re thrilled to bring this project to life along with Network Entertainment, Sonar, and YouTube Red.”

The global head of original programming at YouTube, Susanne Daniels, described the untitled series as “a fascinating journey as we explore the exciting developments in the world of AI and glimpse into the future.” “There is so much to discover, and this series will take us on a fascinating journey as we explore the exciting developments in the world of A.I. and glimpse into the future,” Daniels added.

It isn’t the first time that Robert Downey Jr. showed interest in technology. There other instances where the star had matters with applied science. It is sure a clever move for YouTube to make the Iron Man star a host of an A.I. show.
