Steven Yeun Doesn't Keep Up WIth The Walking Dead

AMC’s The Walking Dead TV series is now in its ninth season. The craze started in the comics where it was hugely popular among the fanboy community until Frank Darabont introduced it on the big screen. Since the first season of The Walking Dead, the series was a massive hit among the mainstream television audience.

It’s been almost eight years since the pilot episode hit five million viewers and a lot of characters have already ended their story. Glenn Rhee is one of the most favored characters in the show, but he was unfortunately killed off in The Walking Dead‘s season 7 premiere after trying to survive for seven seasons. Glenn was supposed to be a soon-to-be father with Maggie‘s unborn child. The couple was the most-liked lovers in the series. Therefore, Glenn‘s death left fans shocked and devastated.

While fans are still coping with Glenn‘s absence, actor Steven Yeun, who played Glenn Rhee, has entirely left the show. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Yeun confessed that he doesn’t keep up with the series to find out what is happening with his character’s wife, Maggie. Nevertheless, Yeun said that he’s still talking to his friends in the show that keeps him updated. The actor told The Hollywood Reporter that the friendships he made within the show are much more necessary to keep up with.

“I haven’t been watching TV. Is that bad? I’ve caught some episodes here and there, but I’ve been mostly working. I still talk to all my friends, and they keep me updated. I think the friendships are much more necessary to keep up with, so it’s been nice,” Yeun said in a statement.

Although it doesn’t seem that the actor doesn’t keep up with the series anymore, he’s completely not watching television. Still, fans are disheartened by the fact that Steven Yeun doesn’t look after his character’s wife and how his legacy is living on.

After all, the actor admitted that Glenn‘s violent farewell made perfect sense. In a past interview with Vanity Fair, Yeun broke the silence with his character’s brutal death. “I don’t feel like it was too much. I truly feel like people didn’t know what to do with Glenn. They liked him, they had no problems with him, and people enjoyed him. But they didn’t acknowledge the connection people had with the character until he was gone,” Yeun said in a statement. “I think they took away someone that I didn’t realize I had made such a connection with until they took him away.”
