Kolkata Knight Riders will host the Rajasthan Royals in the 49th match of IPL 2018 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. It will an equally important game for both the teams as both teams are placed at the fourth and fifth position respectively in the Points Table. Rajasthan have suddenly risen in this tournament after they took the decision of sending Butler to open the batting. He scored five consecutive fifties to equal the record of Virender Sehwag. Also, he won his team last three matches single-handedly. Other batsmen like Samson and Rahane also contributed a bit in the last game. And in this game, D’Arcy Short is expected to do well as there is a good bounce offered at Kolkata’s pitch. They will be hoping that something similar happens with Ben Stokes as well.
KKR is coming to this match after a magnificent batting performance in the last game as they posted their highest ever total of 245 in the history of IPL. In that match, all their batsmen contributed runs with the bat and they managed to win the game by 31 runs against KXIP. KKR’s coach, Jacques Kallis said that Shivam Mavi is not yet 100 percent fit but he did bowl in the nets. So, the last minute decision will be taken on him. This will make either of Piyush Chawla or Kuldeep Yadav sitting out as Prasidha Krishna has done well so far in the opportunities given to him. While RR will look to play with the same combination and continue with their winning team.
The players didn’t get to practice much as it was raining heavily in the city. Though the clouds stayed away on the eve of the match and something similar is expected on the match day as well.
