On Saturday the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided the residency of comedian Bharti Singh in Mumbai, alleging that he took marijuana. Sameer Wankhede, the NCB Zonal Manager, confirmed the recovery but refused to provide more detailed information. He added that raids were happening elsewhere in Mumbai. Bharti and her husband Harsh had asked about the smuggling by another NCB officer.
On 14th June, the NCB investigates the opioid angle against the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. He raided actor Arjun Rampal’s residence earlier and questioned his partner, Gabriella Demetriades. The NCB arrested and allegedly confiscated drugs from Gabriella’s brother, Agisilaos Demetriades, a South African national. The drug found was administered at Rampal’s place and an NCB prescription was presented to him.
