With the establishment of Covid 19 Protocols on the 551st anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev on Monday, the devotees offered a prayer at Harmandir Sahib (The Golden Temple) in the town of Amritsar. People offered prayers and candles in the temple buildings along with their relatives. The Golden Temple was lit up with sophisticated decorations. The festival where the Sikhs celebrate their first guru, Guru Nanak Jayanti, is the festival of Nanak Nanak Ji Gurupurab.

“I came here with my family from Guwahati for the 551st anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji to give my prayers. Sanjay Kumar, a devotee, says that we felt so good. “Much of the devotees came from far-flung places to offer,” another devotee, Umarjeet Singh, said. President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier in the day paid tribute, wishing citizens on their birthday, to the founder of the Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev. The president told Twitter that Guru Nanak Dev had shown people the way to peace, harmony, fraternity, committees and services, and given an economic philosophy.
