UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson took to the internet to extend his greetings on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. He wished and expressed his thankfulness towards all British Hindus, Sikhs and Jains.
Johnson wrote “Happy Diwali” and “BandiChhorDivas” I know that this year celebrations will be different, but I am filled with respect for the way British Hindus, Sikhs and Jains have gone out of their way to help others throughout this pandemic,”
Johnson in his statement said though this year’s Diwali will be different from rest of the years and the fun won’t be the same, but with the arrival of the festival of lights he still is hopeful that all will gain victory over Covid 19 soon. He further requested citizens to abide by the restrictions and follow the social distancing norms.
Johnson posted a video on internet where he was seen to be lighting a lamp. He also thanked and expressed his respects to all British hindus, Sikhs and Jains for their continuous efforts and help during this pandemic.
